Putting the Spot Light On Choir Member Mark K

This is what he says about his experience with VOICES:

“From the moment of being welcomed to rehearsal, Voices of Our City Choir has been a life-changing experience that has changed me forever. I am grateful to Steph and Nina, and the Voices family I have today. From the streets to a shelter to a home of my own, this is an ever-changing experience with this family of mine. I continue to practice what I have done from the beginning: music and love, building relationships, hope, and family. The Choir is more than it ever thought it would become. I love the Voices of Our City Choir, and I am a living example of their good works for the homeless of San Diego.” —Mark K

Today, we are doing a big shout out for our choir member Ricky who just got a new job! To say that it has been a struggle for each of us during the pandemic is an understatement. What we see in Ricky are determination and courage, and it is inspiring all of us at VOICES to keep moving forward!

Summer Membership Drive is officially open

It’s here! Our Summer Membership Drive is officially open. Your generous donations and contributions allow us to do the work we do. We are giving a voice to those experiencing homelessness.

Our programs continue despite the fact that we can’t perform due to the coronavirus lockdown. We are providing and delivering thousands of pounds of food to those in need.

Our advocacy programs are dedicated to speaking up in our city to make sure the voices of those living in extreme poverty and homelessness are heard. Technology is helping us stay connected to our choir every day, and we are still practicing our songs via Zoom.
