Here We Are
Voices of Our City Choir's debut album 'Here We Are' available online October 16
For the past nine years, Voices of Our City has been writing songs together through weekly workshops that bring together a core and ever-evolving group of participants, all of whom share the experience of homelessness. Through these workshops, we've created a body of original music that reflects their stories, voices, resilience and creativity.
After appearing on America's Got Talent and receiving the Golden Buzzer for our original song, "Sounds of the Sidewalk," the choir members dug in even deeper. They kept writing, creating, and building - and ultimately formed Voices Publishing. Here We Are is the result of that journey. The album tells their stories through music that grooves and invites the listener into a world of courageous joy.
The recordings will also be featured in our upcoming documentary film, Songbird, produced by UK-based Groundtruth Productions, with Laura and Woody Harrelson serving as Executive Producers.
